Commentaires

The male nude standing in the water, with its naturalistic, very detailed anatomical features, can be seen as unique in Cuno Amiet's work around 1900. With the curved horizon line placed at the top edge of the picture and the stylised flowers on the meadow, Amiet borrows strongly from Ferdinand Hodler's compositions

Der im Wasser stehende männliche Akt kann mit den naturalistischen, sehr detailliert ausgeführten anatomischen Zügen als einzigartig im Werk von Cuno Amiet um 1900 gesehen werden. Mit der an den obersten Bildrand gelegten und gewölbten Horizontlinie und den stilisierten Blumen auf der Wiese lehnt sich Amiet stark an Bildkompositionen Ferdinand Hodlers an
