    Comments

The tapestry by Gustave Singier is an impressive example of the connection between abstract art and traditional textile craftsmanship. In this work from 1962, a pictorial composition unfolds, distinguished by its warm colour palette, dynamic lines, and expressive formal language.

According to the manufacturer's label, the present tapestry was probably woven in the manufactory of Suzanne Goubely-Gatien in Aubusson.

In the same year, Singier also produced a colour lithograph with the same subject under the title "Prison pour Danaé".
