Cardboard box with slight signs of use. The bronze with a beautiful patina In impeccable condition
Already at a young age, during her stay in Paris, Meret Oppenheim came into contact with the Surrealist circle around André Breton. In addition to Hans Arp, she also met Alberto Giacometti, who was twelve years her senior and whose ear she sketched in 1933. More than two decades later, Oppenheim revisited her works from her Paris period, resulting in the first sculptural edition of the ear in bronze at the end of the 1950s. In 1977, a new edition—also in bronze—appeared in 500 copies.
