Condition

On laid paper, with watermark "Kleiner Bienenstock". With light margin in the old mount, in the uppermost paper margin with another discolouration. On the reverse with old traces of glue, in the outermost margins with small restorations. In the lower margin of the sheet with the five-line inscription by Heinrich Stinnes

Commentaires

The theme of the "Singer" occupied Klee for several years, in 4 works in oil, watercolour or incised drawing between 1923 and 1927 and the present lithograph

In 1925, at the suggestion of Otto Ralfs, a first Klee Society was founded with a total of 6 founding members. In addition to Ralfs, Hermann Bode, Hannah Bürgi-Bigler, Rudolf Ibach, Heinrich Stinnes and Werner Vowinckel participated. The present sheet was the first annual gift for the year 1925. The works from the Bode and Ralfs collections can no longer be traced today

Rückseitig mit alten Leimspuren, in den äussersten Rändern mit kleinen Restaurierungen. Im Unterrand des Blattes mit der fünfzeiligen Beschriftung von Heinrich Stinnes

Erläuterungen

Das Thema der "Sängerin" hat Klee über mehrere Jahre beschäftigt, in 4 Arbeiten in Öl, Aquarell oder Ritzzeichnung zwischen den Jahren 1923 und 1927 und der vorliegenden Lithographie

Im Jahre 1925 wurde auf Anregung von Otto Ralfs eine erste Klee-Gesellschaft gegründet, mit gesamthaft 6 Gründungsmitgliedern. Ausser Ralfs beteiligten sich Hermann Bode, Hannah Bürgi-Bigler, Rudolf Ibach, Heinrich Stinnes und Werner Vowinckel. Das vorliegende Blatt war die erste Jahresgabe für das Jahr 1925. Die Arbeiten aus den Sammlungen Bode und Ralfs sind heute nicht mehr nachweisbar
