The passionate and pleading facial expression of the "Amoureux" is also reflected in Honoré Daumier's lithographs from 1849 and 1851. However, the figure is likely the starting point of this subject and, according to Maurice Gobin, expresses the emotional state of the depicted person in an even more impressive way.

Erläuterungen

Der leidenschaftliche und flehende Gesichtsausdruck des "Amoureux" schlägt sich auch in Honoré Daumiers Lithografien aus den Jahren 1849 und 1851 nieder. Die Figur dürfte aber Ausgangspunkt dieses Sujets gewesen sein und bringt die Gemütslage des Dargestellten gemäss Maurice Gobin auf noch eindrücklichere Weise zum Ausdruck.
