    On the original stretcher, in the old nailing, in a frame probably chosen by the artist. In very good condition

    Comments

    Charles Rollier can be regarded as a representative of Art Informel, a style of abstract, non-geometric and non-objective art of the post-war years. During his regular stays in Paris, he met, among others, Nicolas de Staël and Hans Hartung, whose influence is evident in his work.

    Charles Rollier kann als Vertreter der informellen Malerei bezeichnet werden, einer Stilrichtung der abstrakten, nicht-geometrischen und gegenstandslosen Kunst der Nachkriegsjahre. Während seiner regelmässigen Aufenthalte in Paris lernte er unter anderen Nicolas de Staël und Hans Hartung kennen, deren Einfluss in seinem Werk ersichtlich wird.
