Sheet minimally foxed. Traces of old mounting on the reverse. In very good condition
Edition printed in 1913 by Ambroise Vollard. The theme "Gaukler" ("Saltimbanques") was addressed several times by Pablo Picasso in his oeuvre. The large-format painting of a family of acrobats, located in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, is probably the best-known depiction of this subject. At the center of the six-figure composition are two boyish figures of different sizes. Despite the somewhat different postures and positions of the two groups of figures in the Washington painting and in "Les deux Saltimbanques", a compositional kinship is unmistakable. Our sheet is a fine testimony from Picasso's brief Rose Period (1904–1906).

Blatt minimal stockfleckig. Rückseitig Montierungsreste. In sehr guter Erhaltung
