Comments

Kirchner met Julius Hembus (1903-1983), the organist from Spina, in 1925 near Davos Glaris. However, the most intense phase of their friendship was from 1930 to 1933, after he married Elisabeth Witt and his wife made herself available as a nude model. The photograph was taken in the living room of the house on the Wildboden. Kirchner also used the motif in the oil painting "Liebespaar", 1930 (not in Gordon), as well as in the colour woodcut "Liebespaar", 1932 (Gercken 1699).

Glasnegativ mit minimen Kratzern

Erläuterungen

Kirchner lernte Julius Hembus (1903-1983), den Orgelspieler von Spina, 1925 bei Davos Glaris kennen. Die intensivste Phase ihrer Freundschaft fiel aber in die Jahre von 1930 bis 1933, nachdem er sich mit Elisabeth Witt verheiratet hatte und seine Frau sich als Aktmodell zur Verfügung stellte. Die Photographie entstand im Wohnzimmer im Haus auf dem Wildboden. Kirchner verwendete das Motiv auch in dem Ölgemälde "Liebespaar", 1930 (nicht bei Gordon), sowie in dem Farbholzschnitt "Liebespaar, 1932 (Gercken 1699).
