Slight foxing and signs of use as well as traces of old mounting on the reverse
Early impression on chine collé, on wove paper, with wide margins and the marginal drawings. Prints of the second state are rare, already described as "rare" by Delteil. After illustrating "Faust" and "Hamlet", Delacroix also planned a series for "Götz von Berlichingen", but the series remained unfinished. Larger editions of these illustrations were never published.

Leichte Stockflecken und Gebrauchsspuren sowie Montierungsreste auf der Rückseite
Frühdruck auf Chine collé, auf Velin, mit breitem Rand und den Randzeichnungen. Drucke des II. Zustandes sind selten, schon von Delteil mit "rare" bezeichnet. Delacroix plante nach der Illustration von "Faust" und "Hamlet" auch eine Folge zu "Götz von Berlichingen", die Folge blieb aber unvollendet. Grössere Auflagen dieser Illustrationen sind nie erschienen.
