    Comments

One of the few copies bearing the monogram stamp "HTL" in a circle at the lower right, printed in black. The left-leaning revue "L' Aube" (Morgenröte) was first published in May 1896. Depicted is probably a socially critical scene from a text contribution. Toulouse-Lautrec wrote to an unknown recipient: "I am pleased to inform you that I have L'AUBE posters available for you, stamped copies, from M. Ancourt, at a price of 50 francs for 50. [...]." (In: Goldschmidt/Schimmel, no. 208).

[...]." (In: Goldschmidt/Schimmel, Nr. 208).
