Condition

Slightly trimmed at the sheet edges, laid down on Japan. Sheet wavy and folded several times, with a few small stains. In good condition

Comments

The poster was created for the book "Babylone d'Allemagne" by Victor Joze (1861-1933). The depiction of a German officer, which could be associated with the anti-German content of the publication, was considered very daring for the time.

Erläuterungen

Das Plakat entstand für das Buch "Babylone d'Allemagne" von Victor Joze (1861-1933). Die Darstellung eines deutschen Offiziers, die in Verbindung mit dem deutschfeindlichen Inhalt der Publikation gebracht werden konnte, war für damalige Verhältnisse sehr gewagt.
