    Comments

Printed in an edition of 100 copies by Ancourt, Paris, published by André Marty for the sixth issue of the "Edition L'Estampe Originale", Paris, from April to June 1894. Depicted is a singer in the restaurant "Les Ambassadeurs" in Paris, which had been operated since the mid-19th century in the Hôtel de Crillon, built in 1758. It reached its peak as a so-called café-concert in the last three decades of the 19th century. It was always a center of entertainment for the aristocracy and, in the 1870s, also became a regular meeting place for some of the most famous personalities from the worlds of art and demi-monde.
