Picasso began the composition on 6 June 1957 in Cannes, but set it aside for six months before reworking it and allowing an edition of 50 copies. Finally, Picasso reworked the zinc plate again at the beginning of 1959 and permitted a further edition of 50 impressions.

Erläuterungen

Picasso begann am 6. Juni 1957 in Cannes mit der Komposition, liess sie jedoch sechs Monate liegen, bevor er sie überarbeitete und eine Auflage von 50 Exemplaren zuliess. Schliesslich bearbeitete Picasso die Zinkplatte Anfang 1959 erneut und erlaubte eine weitere Auflage von 50 Abzügen.
