    Left and right at the sheet edge with pinholes and a few studio traces. Along the sheet edge with minimal foxing and handling marks. In good condition

    Comments

    The drawing depicts Gret Flury, not to be confused with Greti Adam, the adopted daughter of Cuno Amiet. Alberto is said to have had a holiday romance with Gret during his stay at Oschwand with his godfather Cuno Amiet at the end of March 1920: "Mit Gret [...] bei Amiet auf der Oschwand, war es eine heisse Liebesbeziehung." (In: Hommage à E.W.K., Ausstellungskatalog, Kunstmuseum Bern, 2003, Kat. Nr. 19).

    The sheet is executed in the same technique as a series of silverpoint drawings that Giacometti created at Oschwand. He wrote to Cuno Amiet in a letter dated 10 April 1920: "Nun bin ich endlich daheim nach dem vielen Reisen. […] Meine Sachen habe ich bekommen, nur habe ich den Silberstift oben vergessen, auf dem Tisch im Atelier […]." (In: Hohl p. 230)

    Links und rechts am Blattrand mit Reissnagellöchlein und wenigen Atelierspuren. Am Blattrand entlang mit minimen Stockflecken und Griffknicken. In guter Erhaltung

    Erläuterungen

    Die Zeichnung stellt Gret Flury dar, nicht zu verwechseln mit Greti Adam, der Adoptivtochter von Cuno Amiet. Mit Gret soll Alberto während seinem Aufenthalt auf der Oschwand bei seinem Paten Cuno Amiet Ende März 1920 eine Ferienromanze gehabt haben: "Mit Gret [...] bei Amiet auf der Oschwand, war es eine heisse Liebesbeziehung." (In: Hommage à E.W.K., Ausstellungskatalog, Kunstmuseum Bern, 2003, Kat. Nr. 19).

    Das Blatt ist in der gleichen Technik ausgeführt wie eine Reihe von Silberstiftzeichnungen, die Giacometti auf der Oschwand schuf. So schrieb er an Cuno Amiet in einem Brief vom 10. April 1920: "Nun bin ich endlich daheim nach dem vielen Reisen. […] Meine Sachen habe ich bekommen, nur habe ich den Silberstift oben vergessen, auf dem Tisch im Atelier […]."
