    Condition

    The Japan paper mounted along the edge on light cardboard, with free reverse. The paper slightly creased. The light monotype reworked with watercolour in rich colours

    Comments

    The sheet was created during Paul Gauguin's stay in France from August 1893 to February 1895, between his two stays in the South Seas. From April to December 1894, Gauguin stayed in Pont-Aven and in Le Pouldu in Brittany, accompanied by the Javanese woman Anna.

    Erläuterungen

    Das Blatt entstand während Paul Gauguins Aufenthalt in Frankreich von August 1893 bis Februar 1895, zwischen seinen beiden Aufenthalten in der Südsee. Von April bis Dezember 1894 hielt sich Gauguin in Pont-Aven und in Le Pouldu in der Bretagne auf, in Begleitung der Javanerin Anna.
