Sheet slightly with some foxing. Several barely visible restored tears. Verso with mounting remnants. Outstanding, deep black print quality and good condition
"Lion d'Atlas" and "Tigre royal" (Delteil 79 and 80) can be regarded as the two principal prints in the graphic oeuvre of Eugène Delacroix. The artist created them in 1829, when he was barely 30 years old, in Paris. He used studies from the zoological garden in Paris and stories as models. It was not until 1832 that he traveled to Morocco and Algiers via Spain. The present print bears the address of printer and publisher Henri Gaugain in the lower margin.

Blatt etwas stockfleckig. Mehrere kaum sichtbar restaurierte Einrisse.
