Commissioned in this form by Ambroise Vollard in Paris and intended as an edition for the "L'Album des Estampes originales de la Galerie Vollard" (IIIème Album des Peintres-Graveurs) of 1898, which, however, never appeared in portfolio form. Another edition of the sheet was published without text.

In dieser Form von Ambroise Vollard in Paris in Auftrag gegeben und als Auflage vorgesehen für das "L'Album des Estampes originales de la Galerie Vollard" (IIIème Album des Peintres-Graveurs) von 1898, das aber nie in Mappenform erschien. Eine weitere Auflage des Blattes wurde ohne Schrift publiziert.
