With a few original losses at the edges, with a minimal water stain in the lower right corner. Overall in very good condition
The motif is among the artist's first lithographs and first appeared at the end of March 1891 as a poster on the walls in Paris. It was created for the brand "France-Champagne". At the upper edge is the corresponding "tampon fiscal", which was customary for the display of posters in public spaces. According to Francis Bouvet, the author of the catalogue raisonné, this work inspired Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec to design posters as well. The work is considered one of the icons of poster art at the end of the 19th century.

Das Motiv zählt zu den ersten Lithographien des Künstlers und tauchte erstmals Ende März 1891 als Plakat an den Wänden in Paris auf. Es wurde für die Marke "France-Champagne" geschaffen. Am Oberrand befindet sich der entsprechende "tampon fiscal", der für die Anbringung von Plakaten im öffentlichen Raum üblich war. Laut Francis Bouvet, dem Autor des Werkverzeichnisses, inspirierte diese Arbeit Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, ebenfalls Plakate zu entwerfen. Die Arbeit zählt zu den Ikonen der Plakatkunst Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts.
