    Comments

According to Chadzis, canoeing was a favourite pastime of the male members of the Luksch family. There is evidence that her two eldest sons and three friends undertook a canoe trip of several days from Hamburg to Lauenburg on the Elbe-Trave Canal in 1921. In this context, the artist made a series of ink drawings, some of which she also turned into lithographs and used as illustrations for Dr Alfred Korn's canoeing guide published in 1921.
