The artist knew the Côte d'Azur very well: she had already spent the winter months in Nice with her mother and siblings between 1890 and 1893, and after another visit in 1930, she spent several months in Nice and Juan-les-Pins in 1948 for family reasons.

Erläuterungen

Die Künstlerin kannte die Côte d'Azur sehr gut: Bereits zwischen 1890 und 1893 hatte sie mit ihrer Mutter und den Geschwistern die Wintermonate in Nizza verbracht, nach einem erneuten Besuch im Jahr 1930 folgte 1948 ein weiterer mehrmonatiger, familiär bedingter Aufenthalt in Nizza und Juan-les-Pins.
