The title refers to the well-known aphorism from the "Pensées" by the French physicist and philosopher Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) and reads in full: "Le cœur a ses raisons que la raison ne connaît point". A symbolic drawing that once belonged to the art critic and biographer of Redon, André Mellerio (1862-1943).
