    Comments

In 1946, while on holiday in the south of France, Picasso met Georges and Suzanne Ramié, who ran the Madoura pottery studio in nearby Vallauris. Between 1947 and 1971, his ground-breaking ceramics were produced there in editions of 25 to 500 pieces. The objects were potted and painted after designs by Picasso, here a monochrome white plate showing his then partner Jacqueline Roque at the easel.
