Traces of old mounting on the reverse. In impeccable overall condition and fresh in colour
One of Alfred Kubin's rather rare coloured works. His fantastically dark dream visions show human abysses. Often the subject is power, here represented by a ghostly figure wearing a pagoda hat. His admonishing hand protrudes from beneath the wide cloak. On the reverse, Kubin wrote that he was dedicating this fat cat boss to the "Marianneum", the collection of Kubin's friends Marianne (1892-1951) and Felix Grafe (1882-1942).
