Left and lower margin irregularly cut and bumped respectively. Paper slightly foxed and minimal tear in lower right corner. The red colour of the studio stamp slightly penetrating the laid paper in the upper right. Traces of an old mount at the left margin on the verso. In overall fine condition
Copies of this magnificent print can be found in European and American museum collections. It is considered one of the artist's small-scale masterpieces. Degas developed it over a total of 22 (!) printing stages, demonstrating his incredible mastery and innovation in the use of intaglio printing. The present sheet, in state XII, is known to exist in only in 4 copies, 2 of which are in important museum collections.

Linker und unterer Blattrand unregelmässig geschnitten bzw. bestossen. Papier etwas stockfleckig und in der unteren rechten Ecke minimaler Einriss. Oben rechts drückt die rote Farbe des Atelier-Stempels leicht durch das Büttenpapier. Rückseitig im linken Rand Spuren einer alten Montierung. In gesamthaft schöner Erhaltung
Abzüge dieses wunderbaren Blattes befinden sich in europäischen und amerikanischen Museumssammlungen. Es gilt als eines der kleinformatigen Meisterwerke des Künstlers. Degas entwickelte es über insgesamt 22 (!) Druckzustände und bewies damit seine unglaubliche Meisterschaft und Innovationskraft im Umgang mit dem Tiefdruck. Das vorliegende Blatt im XII. Zustand ist nur in 4 Exemplaren bekannt, von denen sich 2 in wichtigen Museumssammlungen befinden.
