The last, highly significant realisation of an illustrated book whose lithographs were created by Marc Chagall between 1970 and 1974 in the studios of Fernand Mourlot in Paris. Chagall illustrated some of Homer's 24 cantos with one, two or three colour lithographs. Certainly one of the most important illustrations of the Odyssey by an artist of the 20th century.

Die letzte, hochbedeutende Realisation eines illustrierten Buches, dessen Lithographien Marc Chagall in den Jahren zwischen 1970 und 1974 in den Ateliers von Fernand Mourlot in Paris schuf. Chagall illustrierte die 24 Gesänge von Homer teilweise mit einer, zwei oder drei farbigen Lithographien. Sicherlich eine der wichtigsten Illustrationen der Odyssee durch einen Künstler des 20. Jahrhunderts.
