Comments

From 3 September to 20 October 1931, Amiet was a guest at the "Villa Monbijou" of the Bernese newspaper "Bund" publisher Fritz Pochon-Jent in Hilterfingen. There, directly on the shores of Lake Thun, he created numerous landscapes. The painting bears a small stylised flame at the bottom right next to the monogram; after Amiet had lost a large number of early paintings in the fire of the Munich Glass Palace in 1931, he provided his works from 1931 with this symbol

Erläuterungen

Vom 3. September bis zum 20. Oktober 1931 war Amiet zu Gast in der "Villa Monbijou" des Berner "Bund"-Verlegers Fritz Pochon-Jent in Hilterfingen. Dort entstanden, direkt an den Gestaden des Thunersees, zahlreiche Landschaften. Das Bild trägt unten rechts neben dem Monogramm eine kleine stilisierte Flamme; nach dem Amiet eine Vielzahl von frühen Gemälden im Brand des Münchner Glaspalastes 1931 verloren hatte, versah er seine Werke aus dem Jahr 1931 mit diesem Symbol
