Eine sehr poetische Komposition, die Chagalls grosse künstlerische Kraft und ständige Erneuerung zeigt. Unter leuchtend gelbem Himmel ist das das Liebespaar zu sehen mit dem "mystischen" Tier als Inspirationsquelle. Der Künstler selbst steht auf dem Dach seines Hauses, rechts blüht der Lebensbaum
