"Cock-a-doodle-doo" the acoustic perception of humans when a rooster crows in the morning is slightly ostracised by Leiko Ikemura. But the subject is clear: a good dozen of the magnificent animals are depicted in a meadow. Ikemura repeatedly depicted the motif of the roosters in 1982, sometimes on the back of a "grass warrior", sometimes swimming in the water

Erläuterungen

"Kikeriki" die akustische Wahrnehmung des Menschen, wenn ein Hahn in der Früh kräht, wird von Leiko Ikemura leicht verfemt. Doch das Sujet ist eindeutig: Gut ein Dutzend der prächtigen Tiere werden auf einer Wiese dargestellt. Das Motiv der Gockel stellte Ikemura 1982 wiederholt dar, mal auf dem Rücken eines "Graskriegers", mal schwimmend im Wasser
