    Comments

Baselitz became known worldwide with his "upside-down" paintings from the mid-1970s. The artist creates the composition of the painting already upside down and then paints it just as "upside down". Since the 1990s, Baselitz has mostly painted on the floor. In the year the offered painting was created, he worked for the first time as a stage designer for the opera "Punch and Judy" by Harrison Birtwistles at the Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam. A very expressive female nude
