The watercolour mounted on a backing sheet, the backing sheet with a vertical cut in the centre. The drawing with a small hole in the left margin, the colours fresh and overall in good condition

Comments

Rouault created several versions of this landscape on paper between 1912 and 1914, which are similar in their composition and reduced colouring

Das Aquarell auf ein Unterlageblatt aufgezogen, das Unterlageblatt mit einem vertikalen Schnitt in der Mitte. Die Zeichnung im linken Rand mit einem Löchlein, die Farben frisch und insgesamt in guter Erhaltung

Erläuterungen

Rouault schuf zwischen 1912 und 1914 mehrere Fassungen dieser Landschaft auf Papier, die sich in ihrer Komposition und reduzierten Farbgebung ähneln
