Perfect impression, fresh in colour, on "Chine appliqué", on strong wove paper (papier vélin) with wide margins. Perfect condition
The print was published by Ambroise Vollard and appeared in 1897 in an original edition of 100 copies in his II "L'Album d'Estampes originales de la Galerie Vollard" - One of only two coloured lithographs by the artist; it is generally regarded as one of the finest examples of Symbolist prints. The title probably goes back to Dante's youthful work "Vita nova", in which he describes his love for Beatrice, who had renewed his life

Das Blatt wurde von Ambroise Vollard verlegt und erschien 1897 in ursprünglich 100 Exemplaren in seinem II. "L'Album d'Estampes originales de la Galerie Vollard" - Eine der lediglich zwei farbigen Lithographien des Künstlers; sie gilt gemeinhin als eines der feinsten Beispiele der symbolistischen Druckgraphik. Der Titel dürfte zurück gehen auf Dantes Jugendwerk "Vita nova", in der er seine Liebe zu Beatrice schildert, die sein Leben erneuert habe
