Condition

Canvas probably taken from the stretcher by the artist himself and loosely stretched over cardboard. Pastose application of paint, with a small break in the paint at lower left. In good condition

Comments

The small still life with bottle, plate and oranges was exhibited in March 1911, shortly after its completion in 1910, in a sales exhibition at the Musée Rath in Geneva. There the work was bought by the Solothurn collector Josef Müller for SFr. 80, as can be seen from a note by the artist in the exhibition catalogue

Leinwand wohl vom Künstler selbst vom Chassis genommen und lose über Karton gespannt. Pastoser Farbauftrag, unten links mit kleinem Farbausbruch. In guter Erhaltung

Erläuterungen

Das kleine Stillleben mit Flasche, Teller und Orangen war im März 1911, kurz nach seiner Fertigstellung im Jahr 1910, in einer Verkaufsausstellung im Musée Rath in Genf ausgestellt. Dort kaufte das Werk der Solothurner Sammler Josef Müller für SFr. 80.-, wie aus einer Notiz des Künstlers im Ausstellungskatalog hervorgeht
