Impeccable condition
Long considered "offensive" and "wild", this dance originates from South America and is also popular in Fernando Botero's native Colombia. Here the artist, known for his corpulent figures, has a couple dance and does not forego the typical curves, depicting the red-haired dancer naked except for her shoes. Two details still catch the eye: the dancer smokes a cigarette while dancing and a fly has settled on her hip. A painting full of wit and irony

Tadellos in der Erhaltung
Der lange Zeit als "anstössig" und "wild" geltende Tanz stammt aus Südamerika und ist auch in Fernando Boteros Heimat Kolumbien populär. Hier lässt der für seine korpulenten Figuren bekannte Künstler ein Paar tanzen und verzichtet nicht auf die typischen Rundungen, stellt er doch die rothaarige Tänzerin bis auf die Schuhe nackt dar. Zwei Details fallen weiterhin ins Auge: Die Tänzerin raucht eine Zigarette beim Tanz und auf ihrer Hüfte hat sich eine Fliege niedergelassen. Ein Gemälde voller Witz und Ironie
