"Le paradis" ist eine nicht verwendete und voll ausgearbeitete Vorstudie Chagalls zur Verve-Ausgabe zur Bibel von 1960. Eva mit dem Apfel steht rechts, Adams monumentales Profil umringt vom farbigen Regenbogen als "Versöhnungssymbol" dominiert die Szenerie. Der Fisch, für die Treue und Beständigkeit stehend, sowie das mystische Tier weisen den Weg in eine neue Zukunft. Eine kraftvolle Malerei in blauer Gouache, akzentuiert mit Pastell
