On smooth, firm wove paper with ARCHES watermark and the blind stamp of the paper manufacturer. Fresh in colours and in immaculate condition
The lovers at the lower edge of the subtle blue-grey image space look as if they are carrying the two opulent bouquets. Above all, the painter floats at the easel in double profile, one looking backwards, drawing on memories, the other looking forward to the present and the future. The écuyère (female artist on a horseback) in the painting suggests a metaphor of life. Vitebsk is visible in outline, as is a woman at upper left; they represent stories from life and for life, inspired by the mystical animal at lower right

Auf festem, glattem Velin mit Wasserzeichen "ARCHES" und dem Blindstempel des Papierherstellers. Farbfrisch und in tadelloser Erhaltung
Das Liebespaar am unteren Bildrand des in subtilen Grau-Blau-Tönen gehaltenen Bildraums scheint das üppige Blumenmeer der beiden Blumensträusse geradezu zu tragen. Über allem schwebt der Maler an der Staffelei, mit Doppelprofil – eines schaut zurück und zehrt von den Erinnerungen, eines schaut in die Gegenwart und die Zukunft. Die "Écuyère" (Pferdeartistin) auf dem Bild auf der Staffelei erinnert an die Metapher des Lebens. Schemenhaft ist Witebsk zu erkennen, ebenso eine Frau oben links; es sind Geschichten aus dem Leben und für das Leben, inspiriert vom mystischen Tier unten rechts
