    Comments

"JOB" and the much larger sheet "FOX" are the only two graphic works by Braque that were published as editions by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler before 1914. The drypoint work "JOB" was printed by Eugène Delâtre in Paris and published by Kahnweiler in 1912, originally in 100 copies. However, it sold very poorly, so that the largest part of the edition figured in the 1923 sequestration auction of the Kahnweiler estate under the title "Vente de Biens allemands ayant fait l'Objet d'une Mesure de Séquestre de Guerre". The work is inscribed "JOB" on the left of the picture
