Splendid, strongly toned impression of the I. state, before the addition of the 3 gas lamps. On laid paper, with irregular margins, in clean condition. With minimal creases and slight discolourations
Of extreme rarity. Reed/Shapiro mention only one copy of each of the three states, the first two states have been in private collections until now, the sheet with the III state is in the Rijksprentenkabinett in Amsterdam. The catalogue of the 1918 sale already mentions "Trois états" under no. 88
