    Comments

Robert Combas is widely regarded as one of the founders of the "figuration libre", a style of the 1980s in France that was considered a reaction to the established art establishment, especially to Minimalism and Conceptual Art. One of his characteristics is the fusion of cartoon elements, graffiti art and pop culture into a loud and colourful visual language. The works often show ironic and socio-critical approaches
