In the last years of her work in California from 1997 onwards, Niki de Saint Phalle created a series of important sculptures in her studio in the hangar of a disused airfield. Some of these were produced in small editions, others in individual pieces only by order. According to the catalogue raisonné, there are 5 copies of the present work, each in a different color scheme

In den letzten Arbeitsjahren in Kalifornien ab 1997 schuf Niki de Saint Phalle in ihrem Atelier in einem Hangar eines stillgelegten Flugplatzes eine Reihe von wichtigen Skulpturen, die teilweise in kleiner Auflage, teilweise in Einzelstücken nur auf Bestellung produziert wurden
