    Erläuterungen

    Moritz von Schwind illustrierte William Defoes Robinson Crusoe 1821/1822 für den Verlag Armbruster, Wien. Nur eine der drei vorliegenden Zeichnungen ("Robinson bewusstlos am Strand liegend") wurde für die Publikation verwendet. Der Sammler Meyer war eng mit dem Künstler befreundet und hat die Blätter wohl Anfang der 1850er Jahre direkt bei ihm angekauft; eines wurde dann wohl signiert und falsch datiert
