With the sculpture, Egbert Moehsnang created a powerful yet at the same time quiet engagement with the themes of masculinity, materiality, and symbolism. The vertically rising iron form, with its strict geometry and reduced formal language, is reminiscent of an archaic symbol of male potency—massive, present, and yet without pathos.
