Commentaires

Ayala and the Prado commentary agree when they write about the women: "They shear him and pull the wool over his eyes. Whoever puts himself in the hands of such a barber has only himself to blame." Goya mocks all men who are punished by women as victims of their own lasciviousness.

Ayala und der Prado-Kommentar stimmen überein, wenn sie über die Frauen schreiben: "Sie scheren ihn und ziehen ihm das Fell über die Ohren. Wer sich in die Hände eines solchen Barbiers begibt, ist selber schuld." Goya verspottet alle Männer, die als Opfer ihrer eigenen Lüsternheit von Frauen bestraft werden.
