Commentaires

Probably a proof of the imprint, in the same format as the size of the original edition of the series. Very rare as a single sheet. Below the actual imprint the warning against reprints, freely translated as follows:

"Woe to thee, thou treacherous robber of other people's work and other people's minds; beware of carelessly laying hands on this work of ours! For know that the glorious Emperor of the Romans, Maximilian, has granted us that no one may reprint these pictures with forged sticks or dare to sell them printed within the borders of the empire. If you act against this out of disregard or criminal greed, be sure that you will have to reckon with the confiscation of your goods and legal action."

Erläuterungen

Wohl Probedruck des Impressums, im gleichen Papierformat wie die Grösse der ursprünglichen Ausgabe der Folge. Als Einzelblatt sehr selten. Unter dem eigentlichen Impressum die Warnung vor Nachdrucken, frei übersetzt wie folgt:

"Wehe Dir, du hinterhältiger Räuber fremder Arbeit und fremden Geistes; hüte dich, unbedacht Hand an dieses unser Werk zu legen! Denn wisse, vom ruhmvollen Kaiser der Römer, Maximilian, wurde uns zugestanden, dass niemand mit gefälschten Stöcken diese Bilder nachzudrucken oder gedruckt sie innerhalb der Grenzen des Reiches zu verkaufen wagen dürfe. Wenn du aus Missachtung oder verbrecherischer Habgier dagegen handelst, so sei gewiss, dass du mit Einzug deiner Güter und Klage vor Gericht zu rechnen hast."
