Commentaires

The sixth work from the collection "Cahiers du Regard". The American poet Ezra Pound began his "Cantos" back in 1915, a series of poems that he worked on for the rest of his life and which was to become his magnum opus. By the early 1970s, the collection had grown to over 100 works. These "Canto Pisan" were written in captivity in 1948 and won the "Bollingen Prize" in 1949.

Das sechste Werk aus der Sammlung "Cahiers du Regard". Der amerikanische Dichter Ezra Pound begann bereits 1915 mit seinen "Cantos", einer Gedichtreihe, an der er sein Leben lang arbeitete und die zu seinem Hauptwerk werden sollte. Bis Anfang der 1970er-Jahre wuchs die Sammlung auf über 100 Werke an. Die vorliegenden "Canto Pisan" sind 1948 in Gefangenschaft entstanden und gewannen 1949 den "Bollingen Prize".
