Commentaires

One of the most charming sheets of the "Suite Vollard". From the edition with narrow margins. Published at the suggestion of Ambroise Vollard, printed in 1939 by Roger Lacourière. Brigitte Baer sees the musing "boy" as the artist himself, reflecting by candlelight on his current life situation (his love affair with Marie-Thérèse Walter and the end of his relationship with his wife Olga Stepanovna Khokhlova).

Eines der reizvollsten Blätter der "Suite Vollard". Aus der Auflage mit schmalem Rand. Herausgegeben auf Anregung von Ambroise Vollard, gedruckt 1939 von Roger Lacourière. Brigitte Baer sieht in dem sinnierenden "Knaben" den Künstler selbst, der sich im Kerzenschein Gedanken zu seiner aktuellen Lebenssituation macht (Liebschaft mit Marie-Thérèse Walter und Beendigung der Beziehung mit seiner Ehefau Olga Stepanowna Chochlowa).
