Commentaires

Large-format painting, created with briskly applied acrylic paint and clearly recognisable motifs: A red animal claws a dark creature and pulls it upwards over a round white sphere; a group of figures at the bottom of the picture witnesses this brute process. Martin Disler's oeuvre is characterised by anticipations of death. The present work is a fascinating example of his gestural painting, executed in strong colours and extensive surfaces.

Grossformatiges Gemälde, mit zügig aufgetragener Acrylfarbe und klar erkennbaren Motiven geschaffen: Ein rotes Tier krallt sich ein dunkles Wesen und zieht es über eine runde weisse Kugel zu sich nach oben, eine Figurengruppe am unteren Bildrand wird Zeuge dieses brachialen Vorgangs. Martin Dislers Œuvre ist geprägt von Todesantizipationen. Das vorliegende Werk ist ein faszinierendes Beispiel seiner gestischen Malerei, ausgeführt in kräftigen Farben und ausgedehnten Flächen
