Commentaires

Besides sombre black tones, Arnulf Rainer is never at a loss for bright colours. The work on offer is characterised by a bright orange, applied almost monochrome. The rich tone is the result of repeated overpainting and characterises almost the entire surface. Only at the upper edge does the orange appear lighter, and in the upper right corner a very light tone is discernible above the white.

Erläuterungen

Neben düsteren Schwarztönen ist Arnulf Rainer nie um leuchtende Farben verlegen. Das angebotene Werk ist geprägt von einem leuchtenden Orange, annähernd monochrom aufgetragen. Der satte Ton entsteht durch mehrmaliges Übermalen und kennzeichnet fast die gesamte Fläche. Nur am oberen Rand wirkt das Orange heller, in der oberen rechten Ecke ist ein sehr heller Ton über dem Weiss erkennbar
