Commentaires

This is a view of the harbour of Porto d'Ischia. Hans Purrmann first travelled to the small romantic island in the Gulf of Naples in 1924. When Purrmann lived in Montagnola above Lugano after the war, he travelled to Ischia repeatedly in 1953 and in the summer months of 1957 and 1958 to paint. The play of colours of the landscape, the sea and the colourful houses appealed to him. Even today, the harbour looks as picturesque as it does in Purrmann's paintings and has lost none of its beauty.

Erläuterungen

Es handelt sich um eine Ansicht des Hafens von Porto d'Ischia. 1924 reiste Hans Purrmann erstmalig auf die kleine romantische Insel im Golf von Neapel. Als Purrmann nach dem Krieg in Montagnola oberhalb von Lugano lebte, reiste er 1953 und in den Sommermonaten 1957 und 1958 wiederholt nach Ischia, um zu malen. Das Farbenspiel der Landschaft, des Meers und der bunten Häuser hatte es ihm angetan. Noch heute sieht der Hafen genauso pittoresk wie auf Purrmanns Gemälden aus und hat nichts von seiner Schönheit verloren
