Colourful tachist composition in which Paul Jenkins pours colours onto the surface of the canvas lying on the floor in a controlled manner, achieving opaque translucent layering with a lyrical character. - In 1959 and 1960 he explored the writings of Goethe and Kant. Influenced by Goethe's theories of colour, he began to prefix the titles of his works with the word "Phenomena", followed by a key word or phrase

Farbige tachistische Komposition, bei der Paul Jenkins kontrolliert Farben auf die Oberfläche der am Boden liegenden Leinwand giesst und somit opaque-durchscheinende Schichtungen mit lyrischem Charakter erreicht. - In den Jahren 1959 und 1960 beschäftigt er sich mit den Schriften von Goethe und Kant. Beeinflusst von Goethes Farbtheorien begann er, den Titeln seiner Werke das Wort "Phenomena" voranzustellen, gefolgt von einem Schlüsselwort oder einer Phrase
