On the occasion of his exhibition at the Kunsthalle Bern in 1933, Kirchner stayed in Bern on several occasions. During his stays, he created numerous colourful works in the old town, especially on Münsterplatz and the Zeitglockenturm. Charming view of the square with a view of the Abbey building. Since 1969, the monument has stood on the Grabenpromenade opposite the municipal theatre

Anlässlich seiner Ausstellung in der Kunsthalle Bern 1933 hielt sich Kirchner verschiedentlich in Bern auf. Während der Aufenthalte entstanden zahlreiche farbige Arbeiten in der Altstadt, vor allem auf dem Münsterplatz und am Zeitglockenturm. Reizvolle Platzansicht mit Blick auf das Stiftsgebäude.
